What happens

PNG generated locally from the visible URL. Scan attribution and lifecycle management are planned.

Example data

All people, links, events, and metrics shown here are deterministic example data.

What this feature does

From link to scan in one click.

Generate a static QR code in the browser and download PNG or SVG. DrutoLink does not yet save or manage QR codes separately or distinguish scans from ordinary link clicks.

Use this capability when you need more control than a basic short URL provides.

Implementation and operating details

The workflow stays attached to the short link, so you can manage the destination and its rules without replacing the URL already in circulation.

How it works

01

Shorten a link

Create a short link for the destination you want scanned.

02

Generate the QR

Generate a print-ready PNG or SVG directly in your browser.

03

Share it anywhere

Print it, post it, or embed it — the scan goes straight to your link.

Operational guide

How DrutoLink processes it

Static PNG and SVG QR codes are generated locally in the browser from the supplied URL. Opening the encoded URL creates an ordinary link request; the image itself does not report camera detections.

Understand the signals, processing order, fallback, and checks that matter before you rely on this capability.

Required inputs and signals

Configuration input
Generate a static QR code in the browser and download PNG or SVG. DrutoLink does not yet save or manage QR codes separately or distinguish scans from ordinary link clicks.
Signals and connected controls

Decision, fallback, and common mistakes

Saved QR objects, managed styling, lifecycle controls, and scan-specific attribution are not available. A camera can detect a code without the person opening its URL.

Part of this workflow is available now, but the remaining items described on this page are still in development. Treat roadmap items as unavailable until they ship.

Practical setup checklist

  1. 01 Shorten a link. Create a short link for the destination you want scanned.
  2. 02 Generate the QR. Generate a print-ready PNG or SVG directly in your browser.
  3. 03 Share it anywhere. Print it, post it, or embed it — the scan goes straight to your link.

Why teams use it

PNG download, right in the browser
Print-ready output
Works with any short link
QR click stats on the roadmap
Use a campaign-specific short link before generating the code so scans can be separated from other traffic; advanced per-code attribution is planned.

Measurement and reporting

Review click activity and the relevant link, campaign, audience, or variant breakdowns in DrutoLink analytics. Use consistent UTM parameters when results must also be reconciled with destination-side analytics.

What you can evaluate

PNG download, right in the browser · Print-ready output · Works with any short link

How to interpret results

A redirect click confirms that the link served a destination. It does not by itself prove a signup, purchase, or qualified visit. Compare the same date range and traffic definition before making a decision.

Important boundary

Use the default destination and documented fallback behavior for cases where a rule cannot be evaluated. Test important links from representative devices and networks before broad distribution.

Is the QR code free? Yes — QR codes for any short link are free to generate and download.

Best use cases

Practical examples

These are common situations where the capability can reduce manual link changes or make reporting easier to understand.

  • 01 Posters and print materials
  • 02 Product packaging
  • 03 Offline-to-online campaigns
  • 04 Measure visits from a conference banner, product insert, restaurant menu, direct-mail piece, or retail display.

Is this the right fit?

Choose this feature when

You need one controlled short URL, a repeatable operating workflow, and reporting that stays connected to the link. PNG download, right in the browser

Use another approach when

Your requirement depends on a capability marked partial or planned, requires identity-level certainty, or needs conversion attribution that must be measured in the destination product.
